Our overall mission is to be the hub for the development and implementation of state-of-the-art computer software for education and training in the insurance industry and associated areas.
Our project has the following strengths:
We have invested almost 10 years developing expertise in interactive multimedia CAI modules and are now recognized as authorities in the field;
We are dedicated to the production of the highest quality computer aided instruction;
We are committed to keeping abreast of the cutting edge of technology;
We have a nucleus of highly qualified people;
We incorporate the cutting edge of knowledge about motivation and reinforcement to encourage information acquisition;
We integrate clear navigational tools and unambiguous computer screen design into the module; and
Our proximity to Penn State University gives us a source of expertise in a wide variety of areas on an as-needed basis.
Our project began in 1974. Its primary focus was on actuarial, insurance, and pension topics, and on economic analyses involving projections and simulations. We also were involved heavily in the design, development and implementation of computer models for pension plan proposals and valuations, and forensic analysis.
Beginning in the fall of 1990, after seeing a multimedia demonstration by the faculty of IBM's Institute for Academic Technology, we expanded our focus to include the development and implementation of multimedia modules for education and training in the insurance industry. We chose the insurance industry because we had a high level of expertise in the area.
When educators and trainers in insurance think of examples of multimedia production, they think of our projects. We are recognized as an authority in the field.
We are committed to being at the forefront of technology and methodology, and to finding way to implement that technology and methodology to improve education and training in the insurance industry and associated areas.
